9月11日，我校中外合作办学项目国际商务专业2006级新生开学典礼在校200人报告厅举行。校长王崇杰，维多利亚大学国际合作项目负责人Gil·Davidson，教务处处长段培永，国际交流处处长王新平，商学院相关领导以及100名合作办学新生参加了开学典礼。校长王崇杰发表了热情洋溢的讲话，并勉励新生：“我们的祖国正处于全面建设小康社会的战略机遇期，我们的学校正在大力推进建设高水平多科型大学进程。你们生逢其时，机遇难得，希望大家勤奋学习，脚踏实地，锻炼成长。四年之后，当我们在澳洲维多利亚大学举行毕业典礼之时，同学们能够自豪地说：‘山东建大，是我们无悔的选择。’”
维多利亚大学国际合作项目负责人Gil·Davidson，商学院院长王海滋分别从不同角度寄语新生，祝福他们能在山东建大度过难忘的大学生活并顺利转入维大学习。新生代表曲晓伟同学也发言表示要在建大刻苦学习，努力拼搏，不辜负学校师长的殷切期望。

WELCOMING speech
Shandong JianZhu University

Dear Professor Wang, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s a great honour to be here today representing Victoria University at this very important event and it makes me very happy to be standing here with the President and all our Shandong Jianzhu University friends to welcome you to the new joint program between Victoria University and Shandong Jianzhu University.
Our Vice Chancellor, Professor Elizabeth Harman sends her warm welcome to you as you commence this program. Our Vice Chancellor is very supportive of the VU programs in Asia. She is a visionary just like President and believes that co-operative programs are very very important to help develop cultural awareness, promote understanding and ensure a great future for both our countries. She is always interested in the progress of our international students.
Victoria University has four Diploma programs with Universities in your country and our VU teaching school has more than 1,900 students in China. VU has co-operative arrangements for degree and post graduate programs in China and other Asian countries including – HK, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. VU has a lot of experiences with International co-operation programs and is VERY please to join with Shandong Jianzhu University in this new co-operation.
This is a very important occasion as it marks the beginning of the next step in your education and the start of your future career(s). But today is more than that - it’s the beginning of a very special experience. You have chosen to join an international joint program that will enable you to study business in an international context with the combined expertise of SJU staff and our foreign University. The program will provide you with an opportunity to develop your English language gain a Diploma and study your Degree overseas. Of course all this will depend on how well you study and succeed in the program.
You have chosen to open the doorway to many possibilities for your future studies and careers and you have chosen wisely. Your parents have also chosen very wisely and I want to remind you now (as I will in the future)……. your parents are providing you with this opportunity. Without them you would not be here and you must NEVER forget that. Your parents have a right to expect that you will study hard, attend all classes, do the work outside of the class hours, obey the directions of your teachers, prepare for the exams and SUCCEED……. I’m sure they will be very happy with your efforts.
You will be taught by excellent teaching staff from Victoria University and SJU and we look forward to working together to support you in your program.
Of course your life here at SJU as a student (as it is with students at Victoria University in Melbourne and with other partnerships in China) should be a very special time in your lives and we hope that you -
- make many friends and develop long lasting networks
- expand your minds in many ways –culturally, academically and socially and
- enjoy the wonderful environment and facilities that are provided here at SJU by President Wang and all his staff
You are a part of the new world where –
- business is world wide
- economies are interlinked and interdependent
- opportunities are everywhere as borders and barriers are disappearing
Communication technologies mean that you can connect to a business partner across the world with phones that go anywhere and internet that is instant. When you wake up tomorrow morning I will be in another country, thousands of kilometers away and yet I can communicate with our SJU colleagues as if we are in the same room!
This is the world that is yours, this is the world that IS your future and you have chosen wisely to study in an International program now you must start working immediately, study hard and succeed.
Finally I would like to acknowledge that you are OUR future and we wish you great success in your program and I look forward to returning to SJU very soon to see your smiling faces and hear about you excellent progress.

尊敬的各位领导、老师，亲爱的同学们：
大家早上好。当丝丝缕缕的清风拂过面颊的时候，当清清爽爽的凉意浸没薄衫的时候，我们知道秋天正一步步走来。秋天是收获的季节，我们——建大和维大联合办学的第一届新生，手捧沉甸甸的录取通知书，迈入了这收获知识、收获希望、收获梦想的殿堂。
十二载寒暑，哪一刻没有努力，哪一天没有拼搏。或许烈日当空，汗水浸湿衣衫的时候，我们动摇过；或许三九寒天，手脚冻得发抖的时候，我们犹豫过；或许感冒发烧、生病在床的时候，我们无助过；或许题海中，枯燥的习题做了一遍又一遍的时候，我们彷徨过。然而，为了希望，为了心中的梦，我们从未放弃过。是信念带领我们跨过高考那个高高的门槛，使我们有幸成为了建大和维大联合办学的第一届新生。努力学习是我们的天职，走进维大是我们的理想，目标已确立，希望就在前方。
如今，站在这人文气息浓厚的校园中，望着这崭新的教学楼，老师、学长们一张张友善的笑脸，伴着树木繁茂的雪山，碧波荡漾的映雪湖，憧憬着进入维大完成更深入的学习旅程，心中涌起万般思绪，感慨良多。经历了那么多的磨练与考验，我们早已坚定了心中的信念，大学的天地是广阔的，面对建大优雅的学习环境，又有维大优秀的教师，对我们进行高品质的培养，我们还用怀疑什么？新学期的我们一定会树立我能我行的信心，创立认真刻苦的学风，培养自觉自愿的习惯，做一名优秀的大学生。我们愿为了理想，尽情燃放自己的青春与活力！
同学们，一个全新的学习氛围已呈现在我们面前，新的学习生活已经开始，在经过困难、挫折与失败的种种磨砺之后，你就会释放，释放出五彩的光芒。而理想也会带你飞上云霄，飞向梦想中的天堂！
最后让我们以建大的校训共勉：厚德博学，筑基建业。
